The NRC Inuktitut Transcoder is a tool to transcode Inuktitut text from one format to another. Formats currently supported are displayed in the table below:
Its use is quite simple:
  1. Select the format you want to transcode from,
  2. select the format you want to transcode to,
  3. write the text in the 'Text to transcode' box, and
  4. click the button Transcode.
Each time you select a different format to transcode to, the text is automatically transcoded to the new format.

Unicode \uxxxx

A Unicode character is written in this format as \u immediately followed with 4 hexadecimal digits representing the numerical value of the Unicode code. For example, the 7-syllabic-character word is written in this format as this 7-\uxxxx-character string \u14c7\u14d7\u14c7\u1403\u1466\u1450\u1585. This format is used for example in Java and Javascript strings to reprensent Unicode characters.

AiPaiTai

When you transcode to Unicode, you may select, by checking and unchecking the AiPaiTai checkbox, that the Unicode transcoded text use the Nunavik's AiPaiTai syllabic characters or not.  For example, the word  is written  in the AiPaiTai mode.
