ilaaniq   ᐃᓛᓂᖅ

Type: intransitive verb root

Meaning:
  • with intransitive ending and no object:
    • to do something purposefully or with intent
    • ex.: ilaaniqtuq
  • with intransitive ending and object *:
    • to do something to s.o. (-mik)
    • ex.: ilaaniqtuq
  • with transitive ending*:
    • to do something to him/her purposefully or with intent
    • ex.: ilaanirijara

*Transitivity suffixes

  • when used with transitive suffixes or verb endings, this verb root must be followed by the suffix of transitivity gi4vv: ilaanirivanga
