Type: intransitive verb root

Meaning:
  • with intransitive ending and no object:
    • to take the part of s.o. whom one loves and cares for
    • ex.: irligaqtuq
  • with intransitive ending and object *:
    • to take the part of s.o. (-mik) whom one loves and cares for
    • ex.: irligaqtuq
  • with transitive ending:
    • to take the part of him/her whom one loves and cares for
    • ex.: irligaqtara

*Transitivity suffixes

  • this verb root can also be used with transitive suffixes or verb endings without the need of a suffix of transitivity
