Type: intransitive verb root

Meaning:
  • with intransitive ending and no object:
    • to pursue s.t. that one scents, speaking of an animal
    • ex.: nariaqtuq
  • with intransitive ending and object *:
    • to pursue s.t. (-mik) that one scents, speaking of an animal
    • ex.: nariaqtuq
  • with transitive ending:
    • to pursue it that one scents, speaking of an animal
    • ex.: nariaqtara

*Transitivity suffixes

  • this verb root can also be used with transitive suffixes or verb endings without the need of a suffix of transitivity
