Meaning:
  • with intransitive ending and no object:
    • to feel compassion for s.o.
    • ex.: nikagusuktuq
  • with intransitive ending and object *:
    • to feel compassion for s.o. (-mik)
    • ex.: nikagusuktuq
  • with transitive ending*:
    • to feel compassion for him/her
    • ex.: nikagijara

*Transitivity suffixes

  • when used with intransitive suffixes or verb endings, this verb root must be followed by the suffix of intransitivity gusuk1vv: nikagusuktuq
  • when used with transitive suffixes or verb endings, this verb root must be followed by the suffix of transitivity gi4vv: nikagivanga
