Type: intransitive verb root

Meaning:
  • with intransitive ending and no object:
    • to go out and meet s.o. who is arriving
    • ex.: niubviuqtuq
  • with intransitive ending and object *:
    • to go out and meet s.o. (-mik) who is arriving
    • ex.: niubviuqtuq
  • with transitive ending:
    • to go out and meet him/her who is arriving
    • ex.: niubviuqtara

*Transitivity suffixes

  • this verb root can also be used with transitive suffixes or verb endings without the need of a suffix of transitivity
