Type: transitive verb root

Meaning:
[-R]to /wring the water from s.t.
  • with transitive ending:
    • to wring the water from it
    • ex.: sibvuqtara
  • with intransitive ending, an antipassive suffix*, and an object:
    • to wring the water from s.t. (-mik)
    • ex.: sibvuijuq
  • with intransitive ending, no antipassive suffix, in the passive mode:
    • to be wrung the water from
    • ex.: sibvuqtuq

*Antipassive suffix

  • when used with intransitive suffixes or verb endings and an object, in order for the verb NOT to be interpreted passively or reflexively, this verb root must be followed by one of the antipassive suffixes i1vv si1vv: sibvuijuq sibvuqsijuq
