Type: transitive verb root

Alternative form: supu

Meaning:
[-R](1) to /blow s.t. away or out
  • with transitive ending:
    • to blow it away or out
    • ex.: supijara
  • with intransitive ending, an antipassive suffix*, and an object:
    • to blow s.t. (-mik) away or out
    • ex.: supiijuq
  • with intransitive ending, no antipassive suffix, in the passive mode:
    • to be blown away or out
    • ex.: supijuq

*Antipassive suffix

  • when used with intransitive suffixes or verb endings and an object, in order for the verb NOT to be interpreted passively or reflexively, this verb root must be followed by one of the antipassive suffixes i1vv si1vv: supiijuq supisijuq
