Type: intransitive verb root

Meaning:
  • with intransitive ending and no object:
    • to take, to lead s.o. by the hand or the arm
    • ex.: tasiuqtuq
  • with intransitive ending and object *:
    • to take, to lead s.o. (-mik) by the hand or the arm
    • ex.: tasiuqtuq
  • with transitive ending:
    • to take, to lead him/her by the hand or the arm
    • ex.: tasiuqtara

*Transitivity suffixes

  • this verb root can also be used with transitive suffixes or verb endings without the need of a suffix of transitivity
