Type: transitive verb root

Meaning:
[-R]to /spray or /spatter s.t. with liquid
  • with transitive ending:
    • to spray or spatter it with liquid
    • ex.: tibvuaqtara
  • with intransitive ending, an antipassive suffix*, and an object:
    • to spray or spatter s.t. (-mik) with liquid
    • ex.: tibvuaqsijuq
  • with intransitive ending, no antipassive suffix, in the passive mode:
    • to be sprayed or be spatterred with liquid
    • ex.: tibvuaqtuq

*Antipassive suffix

  • when used with intransitive suffixes or verb endings and an object, in order for the verb NOT to be interpreted passively or reflexively, this verb root must be followed by the antipassive suffix si1vv: tibvuaqsijuq
