Meaning:
[-R]to /advise or /counsel or /urge s.o. to do something
[-R]to /advise or /counsel or /urge s.o. to do something
- with transitive ending:
- to advise or counsel or urge him/her to do something
- ex.: tiliuqtara
- with intransitive ending, an antipassive suffix*, and an object:
- to advise or counsel or urge s.o. (-mik) to do something
- ex.: tiliuqsijuq
- with intransitive ending, no antipassive suffix, in the passive mode:
- to be advised or be counselled or be urged to do something
- ex.: tiliuqtuq
*Antipassive suffix
- when used with intransitive suffixes or verb endings and an object, in order for the verb NOT to be interpreted passively or reflexively, this verb root must be followed by one of the antipassive suffixes si1vv ri1vv: tiliuqsijuq tiliurijuq
