Type: transitive verb root

Meaning:
[T]to put an inner belt on s.o.[P]to be put an inner belt[R]to put on an inner belt
  • with transitive ending:
    • to put an inner belt on him/her
    • ex.: tiriksaqtara
  • with intransitive ending, an antipassive suffix*, and an object:
    • to put an inner belt on s.o. (-mik)
    • ex.: tiriksaijuq

*Antipassive suffix

  • when used with intransitive suffixes or verb endings and an object, in order for the verb NOT to be interpreted passively or reflexively, this verb root must be followed by the antipassive suffix i1vv: tiriksaijuq
