Type: transitive verb root

Meaning:
[-R]to /stamp, /stomp, /tread, /tramp upon s.t., /push s.t., with the sole or bottom of the foot, one time
  • with transitive ending:
    • to stamp, stomp, tread, tramp upon s.t., push s.t., with the sole or bottom of the foot, one time
    • ex.: tukiqtara
  • with intransitive ending, an antipassive suffix*, and an object:
    • to stamp, stomp, tread, tramp upon s.t., push s.t., with the sole or bottom of the foot, one time
    • ex.: tukiqsijuq

*Antipassive suffix

  • when used with intransitive suffixes or verb endings and an object, in order for the verb NOT to be interpreted passively or reflexively, this verb root must be followed by the antipassive suffix si1vv: tukiqsijuq
