Type: transitive verb root

Meaning:
to /put or /stow s.t. away out of sight
  • with transitive ending:
    • to put or stow it away out of sight
    • ex.: tuqquqtara
  • with intransitive ending, an antipassive suffix*, and an object:
    • to put or stow s.t. (-mik) away out of sight
    • ex.: tuqquqsijuq
  • with intransitive ending, no antipassive suffix, in the reflexive mode:
    • to put or stow itself away out of sight
    • ex.: tuqquqtuq
  • with intransitive ending, no antipassive suffix, in the passive mode:
    • to be put or be stowed away out of sight
    • ex.: tuqquqtuq

*Antipassive suffix

  • when used with intransitive suffixes or verb endings and an object, in order for the verb NOT to be interpreted passively or reflexively, this verb root must be followed by the antipassive suffix si1vv: tuqquqsijuq
