Type: transitive verb root

Meaning:
to /cover or /blanket s.o. with something
  • with transitive ending:
    • to cover or blanket him/her with something
    • ex.: uliktara
  • with intransitive ending, an antipassive suffix*, and an object:
    • to cover or blanket s.o. (-mik) with something
    • ex.: uliksijuq
  • with intransitive ending, no antipassive suffix, in the reflexive mode:
    • to cover or blanket oneself with something
    • ex.: uliktuq
  • with intransitive ending, no antipassive suffix, in the passive mode:
    • to be covered or be blanketted with something
    • ex.: uliktuq

*Antipassive suffix

  • when used with intransitive suffixes or verb endings and an object, in order for the verb NOT to be interpreted passively or reflexively, this verb root must be followed by the antipassive suffix si1vv: uliksijuq
