Type: transitive verb root

Meaning:
[-R]to /miss s.t. after it has been aimed at
  • with transitive ending:
    • to miss it after it has been aimed at
    • ex.: uniuqtara
  • with intransitive ending, an antipassive suffix*, and an object:
    • to miss s.t. (-mik) after it has been aimed at
    • ex.: uniuqsijuq
  • with intransitive ending, no antipassive suffix, in the passive mode:
    • to be missed after it has been aimed at
    • ex.: uniuqtuq

*Antipassive suffix

  • when used with intransitive suffixes or verb endings and an object, in order for the verb NOT to be interpreted passively or reflexively, this verb root must be followed by the antipassive suffix si1vv: uniuqsijuq
